BC ELN has released Innovation & Success 2020, its annual report. Innovation & Success 2020 highlights the power that collaboration has in times of challenge and uncertainty. Libraries and library staff were able to lean on BC ELN services as well as each other in 2020 to offer ongoing support to students, educators, and researchers through unprecedented circumstances.

The latest BC Open Textbook (4th Quarter December 2020) MARC records are now available for free download.

• In light of the current global situation this year’s event will be virtual,  taking place on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020 from 9:00am – 12:00pm via WebEx.
• The early morning session will cover the content side of things along with the latest in FOLIO ERM developments. The late morning session will be an overview of the latest EDS UX enhancements (including a live demo), ebook interface updates and the benefits of having OER and DRM free ebooks for faculty all in one easy to search interface.

As work and educational priorities shift in response to COVID-19, BC ELN recognizes that institutions have largely moved to online modes of service delivery.

BC ELN resources and services are viable options to support institutions during this disruption. For the most part, we do not anticipate interruptions for members. The BC ELN team is currently working remotely, and staff monitor services from home. We are available as usual through phone and email.

We're excited to announce that our Permissions Project is now complete and new licensing information is now easily accessible on the BC ELN website for over 65 reseouces.

BC ELN is committed to strengthening its licensing program and supporting partner libraries by clearly communicating the terms and conditions of access to licensed resources that are negotiated on their behalf. The purpose of the Permissions Project was to expand and sharpen the licensing information included on the BC ELN website.

BC ELN and COPPUL are pleased to welcome Emily Carr University of Art + Design into COPPUL's WestVault preservation network. Thanks to the work of Brandon Weigel, Manager of BCELN's Arca digital repository program, and COPPUL's former CDSN coordinator, Corey Davis, COPPUL and BC ELN have entered into an informal agreement with BCELN to allow members of Arca  to use the COPPUL WestVault services, and vice versa.  The Arca platform fully automates the deposit of repository content into COPPUL's WestVault LOCKSS-based preservation network.
