Farewell to Long-Time WriteAway Coordinator
BC ELN wishes a fond farewell to long-time BC ELN WriteAway Coordinator, Megan Robertson. For the past seven years, Megan has nurtured the provincial WriteAway service, seeing it grow from 5 to 19 participating institutions. She has provided valuable feedback and support to coordinators, tutors, and countless students. As a BC ELN colleague, Megan has shared her expertise in writing, facilitation, project management, and teaching, and has buoyed our spirits many a time with her fantastic sense of humour (and occasional stick of Pocky!).
While we are sad to see her go, we know that Megan will continue to make a wonderful impact on the SFU community in her new role as an Educational Developer with the Centre for Educational Excellence. We extend our hearty congratulations to her on this new position. Megan’s last day with BC ELN is today, Thursday May 27th.
Tanya Burnstad will be stepping in as interim WriteAway Coordinator starting next week. Tanya is completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing and Criminology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she shares her enthusiasm for the written word as a Writing Tutor. Tanya has also been a WriteAway tutor since 2018. Tanya keeps her family of six organized with colour-coded schedules and approaches all tasks with focused enthusiasm and a lot of coffee. Tanya can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
