BCHDP-Arca Hosting Service
Purpose
An estimated 20% of pre-2016 British Columbia History Digitization Program (BCHDP) grant-funded materials are not available online and may be lost forever. With a goal of making those at-risk materials accessible to the public, BC ELN and Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (IKBLC) at the University of British Columbia Library have partnered to allow successful past and future BCHDP grant recipients the option of hosting their digitized material on Arca.
History
BC ELN and IKBLC initiated this unique partnership in 2017 to leverage the respective capacities of each, so that both can achieve a common goal of supporting access to British Columbia’s remarkable wealth of digital assets. In 2020 BC ELN and IKBLC chose to extend this successful collaboration into 2025.
