New Resource Selection

The BC ELN New Resource Selection process enables partner libraries to suggest and prioritize resources for BC ELN to consider licensing consortially. BC ELN supports the resource selection process, but it is ultimately partner libraries who nominate and evaluate resources for consortial licensing consideration. New resources are considered for consortial licensing annually.

New Resource Suggestions

BC ELN partner library staff can suggest resources they believe should be considered for consortial licensing on an ongoing basis. There is no limit to the number of suggestions.

Before submitting a new suggestion, please review the resources that have been suggested in the current year to save time and avoid duplicate entries.

Ranking Survey

Once per year (typically in spring), BC ELN curates the suggested resources based on the selection criteria and sends out a short ranking survey. The survey is open for 4 weeks, and partner libraries may choose 1-2 resources they would like to license consortially (if any). Only one response is permitted per institution.

The results of the Ranking Survey establish BC ELN's resource acquisition priorities for the year.

Outcomes Reports

The reports below provide details on the New Resource Selection process for each year. This includes the ranking survey results and the negotiation outcomes for the top two resources each year.
