For a pilot period beginning April 1, 2021, BC ELN is offering partner libraries no-cost journal hosting and support on a shared implementation of OJS (Open Journal Systems). This service provides medium and smaller institutions with limited technical capacity the opportunity to publish open access jounals in a fully supported environment.

This pilot project will run until March 30, 2022, at which point we will evaluate whether to transition to a permanent BC ELN service. The purpose of the pilot will be to evaluate the staff requirements to manage the service and to determine a viable long-term service support model.

The pilot is run in partnership with the University of Alberta Library, which provides hosting and maintenance, DOI minting, and other technical services. BC ELN provides coordination, technical support, and training.
