The BC ELN Shared Library Services Platform (LSP) Leadership and Advisory Group focuses on evaluating the feasibility of a coordinated approach to library service platforms through BC ELN and oversees the implementation of any recommendations emerging from a feasibility study.

Membership​​​

Shared LSP Leadership and Advisory Group members are representative of Partner Libraries. Membership follows the BC ELN governance model, with five representatives for full member categories and one representative from each library affiliated with the initiating proposal (Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, and University of Victoria).

Timeline

  • January 2026: The Leadership Group holds its inaugural meeting. The meeting agenda includes a Chair election and discussion of how to approach funding the feasibility study.

  • December 2025: Representation is confirmed during the Steering Committee Business Meeting following the All Partner Meeting.

  • November 2025: Terms of Reference are revised based on Steering Committee input, and sent out to partner libraries in draft form along with a call for nominations.

  • October 2025: BC ELN Steering Committee Executive provides an update and requests further Steering Committee feedback on the proposed governance structure.​

  • September 2025: BC ELN Steering Committee Executive drafts a Terms of Reference for the Shared LSP Leadership & Advisory Group and circulates to the Steering Committee for feedback.

  • July 2025: BC ELN Steering Committee approves SFU/UBC/UVIC’s proposal to commission a shared LSP feasibility study and establish a group to lead the process.​
