Updates:

Custom Collections: Project MUSE is excited to announce a flexible and cost-effective new way to acquire scholarly books on the platform. Project MUSE Books Custom Collections offer ultimate choice – libraries may design a targeted collection by filtering our 70,000+ available titles on criteria such as subject, publisher, and publication date, or may more closely curate a collection by making individual title selections. Instantly gain resources to support a new program/major, easily add electronic access for existing print holdings, or quickly address course needs with a collection tailored to instructor requests. See more details below.

Backfiles: For libraries interested in the backfile custom collections, external pricing is not yet available but pricing is available upon request. Libraries can contact our rep Douglas Storm dstorm.muse@jhu.edu for pricing. Note that MUSE has discontinued all "backfile" collections with the exception of the "All Books" Package and will only offer the Current year in the subject collections. Backfile titles can still be ordered but they are no longer available as prepared collections. Instead, a library can choose what titles they wish to have and then will be sent to the vendor through the cosortia for price confirmation.

Response Instructions

To place an order, please fill out the Project MUSE Ebook order form in the Pricing Attachments section below. Libraries can add either their Custom Collections order, or Subject Collections order to the spreadsheet.
*Note that Libraries should always consult with the MUSE sales representative, Doug Storm (das@press.jhu.edu / 217-823-0286), about what is included in each collection, or their custom order before placing it. MUSE works with libraries individually to manage the order process prior to it being placed through the consortia.*

Custom Collections: A library can review the holdings tool and then request pricing on any list they create from there from Douglas Storm //dstorm.muse@jhu.edu">dstorm.muse@jhu.edu (Book ID or ISBN from that excel sheet needs to be included for vendor to upload a list and generate pricing).

Regardless of the type of order, all orders must be placed through the consortium to qualify for discounts.  Any direct orders will not include discounts.

  1. On the order form, enter the name and list price of the collection your library wishes to purchase (see the Pricing Model section below for an explanation of the pricing tiers). BC ELN will calculate the final discounts before sending the order to the vendor. Or add the individual title detail.
  2. Provide your library's customer number (if a current customer), contact information, and IP address ranges.
  3. Submit the order form to BC ELN by March 7, 2022 to qualify for discounts and in order to meet current fiscal year deadlines.

Please contact the BC ELN Licensing if you have any questions.
