Academic Search & Business Source Opt-In Pricing

Background

In 2024, in addition to negotiating a multi-year bundle of Academic Search and Business Source (the Undergraduate Resource Bundle), BC ELN was also able to negotiate opt-in pricing for institutions that do not wish to participate in the URB and would rather only license one of the component products on a yearly, opt-in basis. 

2027-2030 Renewal

This agreement continues for the 2027-2030 URB term, with a significant 30% consortial discount off of retail pricing for opt-in Academic Search and Business Source pricing. These opt-in licenses will continue to be treated like regular annual product renewals, and follow EBSCO's annual increase for the consortium. As the annual EBSCO increase for 2027 is not yet known, please see the pricing model for 2026 in ConsortiaManager. Typically annual increase average around 2-3%, so you can calculate estimates from the previous year's pricing.

AS & BS Alumni Opt-In Pricing

Background

In response to feedback from the Check-In Survey released during the 2024-27 URB negotiations, BC ELN negotiated additional pricing for alumni access, at a 25% discount off consortial pricing. The Alumni Editions of Academic Search and Business Source can be subscribed as individual, opt-in subscriptions. 

• Academic Search Alumni Edition:  Requires Academic Search (Premier or higher) 
• Business Source: Alumni Edition:  Requires Business Source (Premier or higher)
