Digital Preservation Management Workshop in Vancouver October 24-26

The Archives Association of BC recently announced that it will be holding the 3-day version of the Digital Preservation Management Workshop ( this October in Vancouver with funding from the Documentary Heritage Communities Program.

Taught by experienced DPM faculty Nancy McGovern, the director of DPM workshops who is responsible for digital preservation MIT Libraries, and Kari Smith, Senior Digital Archivist at MIT Institute Archives and Special Collections, this workshop is intended for individuals  who are or will be responsible for the long-term preservation of digital content.
The curriculum walks through the roles, stages, and activities necessary for an institution to define and build a sustainable digital preservation program, including the policies, procedures and strategies to frame and guide the program. The instructors have very generously offered to participate in a number of follow-up calls with the participants to help you maintain momentum after attending the workshop.
