Shoah Foundation's Visual History Archive Offer 2016-2017 [1]

- ProQuest has worked with the Shoah Foundation to extend the offer through the end of this fiscal year.
- While list prices increased (between 3-5%) for all customers on January 1, the offer price has remained stable and uses last year's price.
- Anyone who signs on to the deal can get immediate access without payment - this could translate to up to 2 months of free access.
To JOIN, libraries should contact BC ELN by the response deadline.
Late joins are welcome but will not effect any potential participation discounts.

1. When one joins the session, please use either the phone or the computer audio, but not both. This will eliminate any echoing/feedback.

Pricing is now available for USC Shoah Foundation's Visual History Archive. This amazing resource allows users to search through and view more than 54,000 video testimonies of survivors and witnesses of genocide. Initially a repository of Holocaust testimony, the Archive has expanded significantly to include survivor and witness testimony from four other genocidal events: the Armenian Genocide (1915-1923), the Nanjing Massacre (1937), the Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda (1994) and the Guatemalan Genocide (1978-1996).
Pricing has been negotiated for all Canadian post-secondary institutions via ConsortiaCanada.
Historically, it has been difficult to get access to this material. In January 2016, ProQuest solidified a partnership with USC Shoah Foundation. This partnership has enabled conversations to more easily move forward. As the relationship between USC Shoah Foundation and ProQuest matures, the VHA will move to the ProQuest pltform ... with enhanced functionality. This move is expected in late 2017. At that time, the price is expected to increase significantly.
