Project MUSE Journal Collection Renewal 2017-2018 [1]

October 30, 2017
Updates:

From the vendor:

MUSE is pleased to announce twelve new journals confirmed to join our online collections for 2018, with a few more expected to be confirmed shortly. A list of all new journals confirmed to date, along with other collection content updates, may be found at http://muse.jhu.edu/about/upcoming.html#new2018 [2]. All archival content is immediately available to current subscribers to applicable titles at no additional charge. A full list of journals with complete runs in MUSE is at http://muse.jhu.edu/about/order/back_issues.html [3].

In July 2016 MUSE was awarded a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to develop MUSE Open, a distribution program for open access monographs in the humanities and social sciences. A mid-2018 release is expected, with plans for a beta site to be available in early 2018 previewing the new look and functionality. The beta site will run in tandem with the current MUSE site while we collect additional user feedback and make refinements prior to launch.

MUSE routinely makes available new materials that libraries may download or order at no charge for use in sharing information with their user populations. Subscribing libraries are encouraged to bookmark and visit often our “For Librarians” page (http://muse.jhu.edu/about/librarians/index.html [4]) to access tools such as usage statistics and holdings downloads, view available training resources, sign up for our e-newsletter, and submit requests for free instructional and promotional materials.
