WriteAway Software Review Subcommittee

Mandate
The WriteAway Software Review Subcommittee has received a mandate from the BC eTutoring Steering Committee to:
- Identify key criteria necessary for current and future WriteAway needs;
- Consult, as appropriate, institutions and consortia using different types of software/services for online tutoring;
- Conduct preliminary investigation of software and software support options;
- Outline possible approaches for software and software support options;
- Evaluate software and software support options and recommend an approach(es) to the BC eTutoring Steering Committee that best fit with WriteAway’s current outlined needs.
Membership
The WriteAway Software Review Subcommittee is made up of a maximum of five members including, representatives of WriteAway user groups (institutional coordinators, tutors), and the BC eTutoring Steering Committee, along with the WriteAway Administrative Centre.
Communication
Communication among the WriteAway Software Review Subcommittee will primarily take place via listserv and email.
Meetings
WriteAway Software Review Subcommittee meetings will be held virtually and/or in person as needed.
Deliverables
The WriteAway Software Review Subcommittee will deliver a recommendation to the BC eTutoring Steering Committee of an approach(es) that best fits WriteAway’s current outlined needs.

Once an approach(es) has been recommended, the BC eTutoring Steering Committee can move forward with determining a plan of action for potential software and software support selection prior to the end of the 2017/18 fiscal (April 1).
Amendment
The Terms of Reference for the WriteAway Software Review Subcommittee may be amended by the BC eTutoring Steering Committee as required.
