BC ELN has received renewal pricing for Curio.ca, the streaming audio and video product from CBC and Radio-Canada. Institutions can also opt to add the following streaming news products at an additional cost: L'Actualité en revue (French), News in Review (English), National Geographic (English/French), and the BBC Channel (English/French). Each of the five products needs its own subscription. A library must subscribe to the base Curio.ca in order to add another component. More details are found below.
There has been no pricing change from 2019/2020. Pricing will vary based on updated FTE.
These products are made available to BC ELN partner libraries through a national site license, negotiated on behalf of Consortia Canada by Bureau de Coopération Interuniversitaire (BCI)
Updates:
NEW IN 2020-2021 :
The National Geographic offer has changed. In past years, libraries that wished to have access to both the English and French-language content from National Geographic needed two separate subscriptions, so 2 X $0.15 per FTE. Both are now bundled into a single package for the cost of a single subscription, so 1 X $0.15 per FTE.
Adding titles
A library can request that a title for which the CBC/Radio-Canada has copyright or distribution rights be added to Curio.ca by completing the request form at https://cbcrc-distribution.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/3/group/14. The request is sent to the CBC/Radio-Canada's content manager who will in turn indicate whether or not the content can be added
